The Marvels to Educate Carol Danvers on Leadership

The Marvels star Brie Larson reveals that her character, Carol Danvers a.k.a. Captain Marvel, will be facing the challenge of leadership in the upcoming Marvel Studios film.

A captivating new video showcases Larson discussing her character, combining clips from The Marvels with behind-the-scenes footage. Captain Marvel made her debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the 2019 film of the same name and played a crucial role in Avengers: Endgame, set decades after her origin story. Larson explains, “After the first film, we find ourselves in an intriguing position. Carol is navigating her independence, and suddenly she’s thrust into a situation with this new team.”

Carol Danvers teams up with Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau

Captain Marvel’s new team, known as The Marvels, includes Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan, also known as Ms. Marvel, and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau, whose superhero identity is yet to be revealed. The film serves as a sequel not only to Captain Marvel but also to the 2022 miniseries featuring Vellani as Ms. Marvel. Monica’s character was first introduced as a child in Captain Marvel, and Parris portrayed her in the 2021 WandaVision miniseries starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany.

The synopsis for The Marvels reveals that Carol is now burdened with the responsibility of a destabilized universe following the events of her solo movie. “When her duties lead her to an extraordinary wormhole connected to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become intertwined with those of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must unite and learn to work together to save the universe as The Marvels.”

Written by Nia DaCosta, Megan McDonnell, and Elissa Karasik, The Marvels features a talented cast that includes both new and returning MCU characters such as Zawe Ashton as Dar-Benn, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Park Seo-joon, Lashana Lynch, Randall Park, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, and Saagar Shaikh.

The Marvels will hit theaters in the United States on November 10, 2023. Get your tickets now for this thrilling adventure.
