Enter Acererak, a lich known throughout the Forgotten Realms for his devious nature and immense power. This multiversal traveler is a feared spellcaster who wreaks havoc wherever he goes. What sets Acererak apart is that he is not native to the world of Toril, where most of the Forgotten Realms stories take place, making him an alien invader.
In the 5th edition adventure Tomb Of Annihilation, Acererak serves as the final boss, unleashing a curse that causes those who have been magically resurrected to slowly decay. This “Death Curse” could provide a compelling storyline for a film adaptation, as the characters would have a personal stake in the matter due to Holga’s resurrection at the end of the previous film.
