Scott Pilgrim Takes Off marks a major cast reunion
Mark your calendars for November because Scott Pilgrim Takes Off is set to make its grand debut on Netflix. Bryan Lee O’Malley, the brilliant writer and artist behind the original Scott Pilgrim graphic novels, joins forces with BenDavid Grabinski to handle the writing, executive producing, and showrunning duties. And let’s not forget about the incredible Edgar Wright, who directed the 2010 live-action film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, serving as an executive producer.
But here’s the exciting part: the Netflix anime brings together almost the entire cast from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Alongside the talented duo of Cera and Winstead, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off features the voices of Satya Bhabha, Kieran Culkin, Chris Evans, Anna Kendrick, Brie Larson, Alison Pill, Aubrey Plaza, Brandon Routh, Jason Schwartzman, Johnny Simmons, Mark Webber, Mae Whitman, and Ellen Wong.
And that’s not all! Next year, the Scott Pilgrim graphic novel series will be celebrating its 20th anniversary. To commemorate this special occasion, publisher Oni Press will be releasing two new premium box set collections—one in black and white and another in color.
“Returning to Scott Pilgrim’s world in a new animated series after all these years has been an absolute blast,” O’Malley shared. “Thanks to the incredible fans, these books have stood the test of time and continue to captivate new audiences. For the 20th anniversary, I’m determined to deliver the best editions of Scott Pilgrim we’ve ever seen.”
Get ready to binge-watch Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, premiering on Friday, November 17, exclusively on Netflix.
