Google has just released its artificial intelligence (AI) image generator for the masses, bringing it in line with Adobe’s Firefly 2 AI image generator and OpenAI’s DALL-E 3 image generator. However, Google’s feature is currently only available to those who opt into the Search Generative Experience (SGE) in Google Search Labs, the company’s experimental beta testing service.
“We believe that generative AI in Search can help spark inspiration and help you get even more done. We look forward to continued testing and getting user feedback,” wrote Hema Budaraju, senior director of product management at Google Search in an official company blog post.
But that’s not all. Google has also introduced a new feature that allows users to compose Google Docs-style written drafts using AI in Search, which can then be exported to Gmail or Google Docs. Budaraju gave an example of drafting a note to a home contractor to illustrate the usefulness of this feature.
