Get ready for an epic mash-up that will transport you back to the ’80s and ’90s! Turtles of Grayskull is here to combine the awesomeness of two iconic toy lines. It’s a mutation mash-up like no other, bringing together the mighty Masters of the Universe and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. These flagship brands, owned by competing toy companies Mattel and Playmates, are joining forces in an unexpected partnership.
Thanks to Nickelodeon, the Turtles have been licensed to every toy company imaginable, and fans just can’t get enough. Now, they’re about to witness an incredible crossover.
Heroes With a Half-Sword?
Believe it or not, both Masters of the Universe and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are almost the same age. Masters of the Universe recently celebrated its 40th anniversary as a toy line, while the Turtles will soon mark their 40th anniversary as a comics creation. However, they’ve never truly competed head-to-head as cartoons and toys.
In an exciting announcement from Mattel, they revealed, “The partnership between Masters of the Universe and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles allows fans to create new storytelling moments with the Turtles of Grayskull line. Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo will be equipped with Eternian-style battle gear, while He-Man will face off against his Mutagen Mutation and Skeletor will don Turtle-inspired Armor. This merging of worlds, both bursting with creative potential, opens up endless storytelling possibilities for fans of both brands.”
The initial images showcase the first six figures: a mutated He-Man, Man-at-Arms, Krang, Leonardo, Donatello, and the fearsome hybrid villain Mouse-Jaw. And that’s just the beginning! The master artwork for the line hints at even more characters like Shredder, Splinter, Teela, Hordak, Skeletor, Beast Man, Ram Man, Casey Jones, Mikey, and Raph. All figures will feature the iconic Masters of the Universe Origins base body, with mix-and-match parts.
