Get ready for an adrenaline-pumping thrill ride! Marvel Studios has just dropped an electrifying new 60-second promo for The Marvels. Brace yourself as Carol Danvers delivers a bone-chilling warning that the world will crumble unless she can put an end to the menacing Kree villain, Dar-Benn.
This action-packed promo also unveils the immense danger that Dar-Benn, portrayed by the talented Zawe Ashton, poses to Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (played by the incredible Brie Larson), Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel (the amazing Iman Vellani), and Monica Rambeau/Photon (the sensational Teyonah Parris). Dar-Benn has somehow obtained Kamala’s powerful bangle, granting her an unstoppable force.
Prepare for an epic showdown as the promo concludes with breathtaking footage of Carol and Dar-Benn locked in a fierce battle, accompanied by a commanding voiceover from Nick Fury, who pleads for “one last fight.”
The Marvels gives birth to a new Avengers-level team
Prepare to witness the birth of an extraordinary team that rivals the Avengers! “Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has triumphed over the oppressive Kree regime and sought vengeance against the Supreme Intelligence. However, unforeseen consequences thrust Carol into the role of stabilizing a universe on the brink of chaos,” reveals the synopsis for this highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe film. “When her mission leads her through an enigmatic wormhole connected to a Kree revolutionary, her powers intertwine with those of Jersey City’s biggest fan, Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must unite and harmonize their abilities to save the universe as The Marvels.”
While the Marvel Cinematic Universe has predominantly showcased the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy as super-powered teams, Phase 5 promises to shake things up with the introduction of the Marvels and the Thunderbolts. The latter, Marvel’s answer to DC’s Suicide Squad, features a captivating lineup of reformed villains and anti-heroes, including the Winter Soldier, Yelena Belova, Ghost, Red Guardian, and U.S. Agent.
The Marvels is poised for an exhilarating opening weekend
Hold onto your seats! The Marvels is projected to make a splash with an estimated $75-80 million during its highly anticipated domestic opening weekend. While this figure surpasses the previously reported $50-75 million, it falls short of the staggering $153.4 million that Captain Marvel raked in during its opening weekend in 2019.
If The Marvels falls below the $100 million mark, it will be the first Marvel Cinematic Universe installment since Eternals (2021) to miss this milestone during its opening weekend. Let’s take a look at the opening weekend box office numbers for the last six MCU films: Spider-Man: No Way Home ($260M), Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ($187M), Thor: Love and Thunder ($144M), Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ($181M), Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania ($104M), and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 ($118M).
Directed by the talented Nia DaCosta, The Marvels blasts into theaters on November 10, 2023.
