The Walking Dead Deluxe Unveils Breathtaking Connecting Covers

Skybound Entertainment and Image Comics have just unveiled artist Mateus Santolouco’s incredible connecting variant covers for The Walking Dead Deluxe #79-84.

Written by the legendary Robert Kirkman, illustrated by the talented Charlie Adlard, and colored by the brilliant Dave McCaig, issues #79-84 of The Walking Dead Deluxe bring to life the intense “No Way Out” arc from the original series. And to make this occasion even more special, Santolouco has joined forces with colorist Marcelo Maiolo to create a stunning six-part connecting variant cover series. These covers showcase some of TWD’s most iconic characters as they face off against a relentless horde of walkers. The excitement begins when The Walking Dead Deluxe #79 hits comic shops later this month.

Prepare to be blown away by Mateus Santolouco’s connecting variant covers for The Walking Dead Deluxe #79-84:

The Walking Dead Deluxe re-presents TWD in full color

Written by the brilliant Kirkman and brought to life by the incredible talents of Tony Moore and Adlard, The Walking Dead captivated readers for 193 thrilling issues from 2003 to 2019. Originally presented in black and white, the post-apocalyptic comic book series has now been given a vibrant makeover with The Walking Dead Deluxe. This exciting project by Image and Skybound aims to reprint the entire series in full color, allowing fans to experience the story in a whole new light. TWD Deluxe also includes amazing “pinups” and exclusive “Cutting Room Floor” commentary by Kirkman, offering a unique glimpse into the secret history of the series.

But The Walking Dead’s influence extends far beyond the pages of its comics. The iconic franchise made its mark on television when the gripping adaptation premiered on AMC in 2010, captivating audiences for 11 incredible seasons until 2022. The success of the show led to the creation of two spin-off series: Fear the Walking Dead, which ran for eight thrilling seasons from 2015 to 2023, and The Walking Dead: World Beyond, a captivating two-season limited series that aired from 2020 to 2021. And let’s not forget about Tales of the Walking Dead, an anthology limited series that aired in 2022.

But the story doesn’t end there. AMC is determined to expand The Walking Dead Universe even further. The first spin-off to premiere after the original series ended, The Walking Dead: Dead City, hit the airwaves earlier this year, leaving fans hungry for more. And they won’t be disappointed, as The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon also joined the lineup a few months later. Both series have been renewed for second seasons, promising even more thrilling adventures.

And the excitement continues to build as The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is set to premiere on AMC in February 2024. Originally planned as a trilogy of feature films, this project has been reimagined as a television series, ensuring that fans will get to experience the story in a whole new way.

Don’t miss out on the action! The Walking Dead Deluxe #79 will be available for purchase starting Wednesday, December 20 from Image Comics.
