Meet the pulp hero Doctor Omega, a character that remains a well-kept secret outside his homeland of France. Born from the imagination of science fiction author Arnould Calopin in 1903, Doctor Omega is a captivating inventor who embarks on thrilling journeys through time and space. While some have drawn parallels with Doctor Who, no concrete evidence of inspiration or plagiarism has been established. Now, this enigmatic character is set to gain global recognition through a fresh comic book series on Kickstarter.
Monstrous Books is set to captivate audiences with a five-issue miniseries, spinning new tales of Doctor Omega’s adventures. The series, titled The Omega Eleven – The Merlin Job, sees the Doctor assembling a crew of renowned thieves for a daring time heist. Among the team is his young sidekick Jack Dawkins, better known as The Artful Dodger. Their audacious mission? To infiltrate the court of Camelot and snatch the Philosopher’s Stone from Merlin himself.
The series is brought to life by the talented Bram Stoker Award winner James Aquilone, who penned the scripts. The stunning interior artwork is the handiwork of Zac Atkinson, acclaimed for his contributions to series like Young Justice, Teen Titans, and Transformers.
“Zac’s artwork for the project has left me in awe,” shares James Aquilone. “The passion and meticulousness in each stroke of his pen are palpable.” Zac Atkinson reciprocates the praise, describing the Doctor Omega comic concept as a thrilling blend of “Doctor Who and Ocean’s 11.”
Unveiling the Doctor Omega Variant Covers
Besides the main cover crafted by Zack Atkinson, the series will showcase a variety of variant covers. Atkinson himself has created two of these covers, inspired by the art styles of Rick and Morty, and Calvin and Hobbes. The remaining covers are the creations of Elvira: Mistress of the Dark artist Dave Acosta and Fallen Angel artist J.K. Woodward.

Don’t miss out! The Omega Eleven #1 Kickstarter campaign runs until March 7, 2024.
