What’s the story behind Dark Horse’s Medusa?

In Greek mythology, Medusa is one of the Gorgons — three sisters with the power to petrify anyone who looks at them. The hero Perseus famously decapitated her, using her head as a weapon against his enemies. Medusa is easily recognized by her hair, often depicted as a nest of snakes.
Over time, Medusa has been a popular figure in books, films, TV shows, and video games. Most recently, Jessica Parker Kennedy, known for her role in The Flash, portrayed the character in Disney+’s live-action series adaptation of Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
