‘Joker 2’ Official ‘Folie à Deux’ Teaser Trailer Unveils the Most Insane Love Story Ever Narrated

Hold onto your seats, movie buffs! Lionsgate is stirring things up with its release schedule, affecting two of its genre releases. While the reboot of The Crow is experiencing a slight delay, don’t hold your breath for the sequel Saw XI to hit the screens this Halloween season.

The much-anticipated The Crow, directed by Rupert Sanders, is moving from its original June release date to a new premiere date of August 23, 2024, as reported by Deadline.

Leading the cast of The Crow is the charismatic Bill Skarsgård as Eric Draven, with the talented FKA Twigs co-starring. The film also features Danny Huston (30 Days of Night), Laura Birn (Foundation), Sami Bouajila (A Son), and Jordan Bolger (The Woman King).

The plot of the new movie is gripping: “Soulmates Eric Draven (Skarsgård) and Shelly Webster (FKA Twigs) meet a tragic end when the ghosts of her dark past catch up with them. Given a chance to save his beloved by sacrificing himself, Eric embarks on a ruthless quest for revenge against their murderers, navigating the realms of the living and the dead to set things right.”

As for Saw XI, the eagerly awaited sequel is being postponed by a full year. Brace yourselves for Jigsaw’s lethal games to recommence on September 26, 2025.

Saw X director Kevin Greutert is set to helm the upcoming Saw XI! Greutert, who has a rich history with the franchise, directed Saw VI in 2009, Saw: The Final Chapter in 2010, and more recently, horror flicks Jessabelle in 2014 and Jackals in 2017. He also edited Saw I through V and Jigsaw.

As revealed late last year, Saw X writers Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger will not be returning to pen the screenplay for Saw XI.

The release date shift for Saw XI seems logical, considering the project is still in the development phase.

Meanwhile, Saw X is now accessible on VOD platforms as well as 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD. The tenth installment of the franchise concluded its worldwide box office journey with a whopping $111.8 million.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates on both genre films as they unfold.
