Harley Quinn #39 Preview Reveals Harley Embarking on New Adventure in Iconic Outfit

Harleen Quinzel, better known as Harley Quinn, has worn many hats in her lifetime. She’s been a villain, a lover, a member of the Suicide Squad, and even something akin to a hero. But before all that, she was a healer. A certified doctor of psychology, no less! Now, donning her iconic costume, she’s on a mission to heal the mentally ill, whether they’re ready for it or not!

Harley Quinn #39, a collaboration between Tini Howard and Natacha Bustos, kicks off with Harleen embarking on her new journey. However, her first potential patient, Mr. Freeze, isn’t quite ready to start his healing process. But fear not, Gotham City is teeming with troubled psychotics (Harley would know, she’s pals with most of them!) and the unstoppable Doctor Quinn is hell-bent on healing the world.

Can Harley Quinn Heal the World Through Psychology?

There’s a method to Harley Quinn’s madness as she sets out to help Gotham’s villains confront their demons. It’s no secret that Gotham’s supervillains are plagued with severe mental health issues. They could certainly use the help of a skilled psychologist. That’s why Batman invests so much effort into helping his foes heal.

However, there’s a lingering question about Harley Quinn’s competence as a psychologist. Some origin stories depict her as a mediocre student who chose psychology for the money. Her current origin story portrays her as idealistic and capable, albeit a bit naive. Regardless, it’s highly doubtful that Harley Quinn still holds a valid therapist license.

Harley Quinn #39 hits comic shops everywhere on April 23, 2024.
