Just in time for Star Wars Day, Disney has dropped an exciting new trailer for The Acolyte, giving fans a sneak peek before its two-episode premiere on Disney+ on June 4.
The plot is intriguing: “A respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) is drawn into an investigation of a shocking crime spree, which brings him face-to-face with a dangerous warrior from his past (Amandla Stenberg). As they unravel more clues, they are led down a dark path where nothing is as it seems, and sinister forces lurk in the shadows…”

The Acolyte is a riveting mystery-thriller that will transport viewers into a galaxy filled with shadowy secrets and the rise of dark-side powers, set in the final days of the High Republic era. Alongside The Acolyte, Lucasfilm is also developing other Star Wars projects, including shows like Skeleton Crew, Andor Season 2, and Ahsoka Season 2.

Star Wars: The Acolyte is penned and executive produced by Leslye Headland (Russian Doll), who also serves as the showrunner. The star-studded cast includes Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game), Dafne Keen (His Dark Materials), Rebecca Henderson (Inventing Anna), Dean-Charles Chapman (1917), Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix), Manny Jacinto (The Good Place), Jodie Turner-Smith (After Yang), Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll), and Star Wars sequel trilogy alum Joonas Suotama, who will be introducing a new character – a Wookiee Jedi master.
