Final Installment of Venom Franchise to Star Tom Hardy in Superhero Sequel

Get ready for a thrilling finale with Venom: The Last Dance, the last installment in the Venom movie series.

In an interview with Deadline, Sony Motion Pictures Group chairman Tom Rothman revealed that “Venom: The Last Dance” will be the “third and final Venom” movie. He also hinted at the film’s grandeur, stating it is “going to be huge” when it premieres this October.

What’s the buzz about Venom: The Last Dance?

The storyline for Venom: The Last Dance is still a mystery. Tom Hardy is reprising his role as Eddie Brock/Venom, with Juno Temple, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Clark Backo also featuring in the film in undisclosed roles.

Venom: The Last Dance marks the directorial debut of Kelly Marcel, who penned the first two Venom movies as well as 2013’s Saving Mr. Banks and 2015’s Fifty Shades of Grey. Marcel and Hardy co-created the story and are serving as producers alongside Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, and Hutch Parker.

The first Venom movie, directed by Ruben Fleischer, hit the United States theaters in October 2018 and was a massive financial success for Sony, raking in approximately $856.1 million globally off an estimated $100-116 million budget.

The sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, directed by Andy Serkis, followed in October 2021. It earned $506.9 million globally off a $110 million budget.

Although Hardy made a cameo in the MCU’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, all three Venom movies are part of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, which also includes 2022’s Morbius and 2024’s Madame Web. After Venom: The Last Dance, the much-anticipated Kraven the Hunter, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, will hit theaters this December after several delays.

Mark your calendars! Venom: The Last Dance is set to release in United States theaters on October 25, 2024.
