Superman Villain Unleashed on Shazam Family by Amanda Waller in Absolute Power: Task Force VII #1 Sneak Peek

Prepare to be captivated as the first chapter of Absolute Power reveals the formidable weapon of Amanda Waller – six Amazo robots, reprogrammed by the AI Failsafe. These aren’t your average robots. Known as Task Force VII, they don’t just mimic the powers of any superhero they come across, they strip them of their powers entirely. But as the sneak peek of Absolute Power: Task Force VII #1 shows, this isn’t enough for the woman dubbed as “The Wall.”

Leah Williams pens this gripping tale, with Caitlin Yarsky bringing it to life through her art. The narrative follows Amanda Waller as she sets her sights on imprisoning the heroes that Task Force VII has depowered. Simply leaving Earth’s heroes powerless isn’t enough for her, she wants them locked away too.

Her primary targets are the Shazam Family, namely The Captain and Mary Marvel. Waller’s ambitions don’t stop at capturing heroes, she also wants to seize the Rock of Eternity that grants them their powers. To achieve this, she enlists a Superman villain with a knack for tracking metahuman targets, as the two magical heroes go into hiding.

Absolute Power thrusts Parasite back into the world of villainy

It’s no surprise that Amanda Waller has chosen to recruit Parasite. Not only can he match any hero he touches, but he can also detect nearby sources of superpowers. He’s a former member of the Suicide Squad, but his appearance in Absolute Power is particularly noteworthy due to his recent transformation.

In the latest Superman comic, Parasite has turned a new page. Working for SuperCorp as a work release prisoner, Rudy Jones was given an experimental wristband that fed him a constant stream of energy, quelling the hunger that drove him to seek out metahumans. With his cravings under control, Parasite was a model worker. But without it, he’s a weak-willed addict and a willing pawn in Amanda Waller’s plans for Absolute Power.

Get ready for the release of Absolute Power: Task Force VII #1, hitting comic shops everywhere on July 10, 2024.
