Task Force VII #5 Unveils Amanda Waller’s Hidden Allies in Absolute Power

Prepare for a thrilling ride as the Absolute Power event takes a shocking turn. Amanda Waller has stooped to unprecedented depths in her quest to create a new world order. Earlier chapters hinted at some influential figures backing her, leaving us guessing about their identities. But now, the curtain is finally lifted on some of Waller’s clandestine allies in the climactic pages of Absolute Power: Task Force VII #5.

Masterfully penned by Alex Paknadel and brought to life by Pete Woods’ artistry, the issue delves deeper into a subplot revolving around Steve Trevor. This long-standing ally of Wonder Woman has infiltrated the prison that Amanda Waller built to incarcerate Earth’s heroes. His mission? To gather as much intel as possible and devise a plan to dismantle Waller’s operation.

Despite his skills, Trevor was taken aback by the extent of Waller’s pursuit of Absolute Power. He witnessed Waller communicating with a woman through a dimensional gateway. He recognized her even before he heard a familiar voice laced with an unfamiliar, chilling tone. The final page unveiled the woman as Superwoman, the malevolent Donna Troy of Earth-3, flanked by her team, the Crime Syndicate of America.

Unraveling the Crime Syndicate of America in Absolute Power

Debuting in 1964, the Crime Syndicate of America is the twisted version of the Justice League from Earth-3. This sinister world operates under a different set of physical laws compared to the rest of the DC Multiverse. In Earth-3, evil is the new good, and vice versa. Its “heroes” are dark reflections of the main universe heroes, embodying the opposite of their values. For instance, Superwoman is a cunning misandrist, hell-bent on conquering Man’s World out of sheer hatred.

The CSA’s appearance in Absolute Power is hardly a surprise, considering Waller kickstarted her current campaign after a trip to Earth-3. Clearly, the visit left a mark, as Waller’s ultimate vision of a world devoid of heroes mirrors the survival-of-the-fittest ethos of Earth-3. However, the CSA might find themselves out of their depth on Earth-Prime, where good always triumphs over evil.

Don’t miss out on the action! Absolute Power: Task Force VII #5 is now available at comic shops everywhere.
