Meet Logan, a man of many faces. He’s been a warrior, a soldier, a beast, a killer, and a hero throughout his long and eventful life. Now, he finds himself at a crossroads, retreating to familiar grounds to escape his inner turmoil. But as a sneak peek into Wolverine #1 shows, his past isn’t quite ready to let him go.

Wolverine #1, penned by Saladin Ahmed and brought to life by Martín Cóccolo, finds Logan in a period of change. We first saw him in the From the Ashes era in X-Men #1, where he declined Cyclops‘ invitation to join a new team in Alaska. He then surfaced in Mexico in Uncanny X-Men #1, joining forces with Gambit and Rogue to battle a dragon. This solo series captures the interim period, with Logan reconnecting with nature before reuniting with his comrades. But this solitude leaves him vulnerable to attacks from his adversaries.

“Wolverine was the epitome of cool when I was a kid, and that hasn’t changed one bit. So, when Marvel offered me a chance to write a new solo Logan book, I jumped at the opportunity,” shared Ahmed.
“Logan is a complex character – a mythic hero, a tormented animal, and a man of flesh, blood, and adamantium. Our story explores what happens when these aspects of his identity pull him in different directions, threatening to tear him apart,” he added.
