Imagine being part of a diverse group of individuals in rural Georgia, forced to unite against an enigmatic menace to survive. This is the thrilling premise of the upcoming horror series “Teacup,” brought to you by Peacock and executive produced by the renowned James Wan. The series draws inspiration from Robert McCammon‘s chilling novel Stinger. Don’t miss the spine-tingling new trailer!
In a recent statement, James Wan shared his excitement about the project, “Upon reading Robert McCammon’s Stinger, the entire team at Atomic Monster was electrified. The narrative was ripe with potential for a gripping series. Ian McCulloch had a unique vision to adapt it in a way that was both shocking and steeped in a dark atmosphere, yet brimming with a profound sense of humanity — a quality often missing in edgy narratives. With a stellar cast led by Yvonne Strahovski, Scott Speedman and Chaske Spencer, fans are in for a truly riveting experience.”
Mark your calendars! The first two episodes of “Teacup” will premiere on Peacock on Thursday, October 10, with two new episodes released weekly leading up to Halloween.
The series, a collaboration between Atomic Monster, UCP, and showrunner Ian McCulloch (“Yellowstone”), revolves around a group of people on a ranch who must band together to survive a mysterious threat. As McCulloch previously hinted, the series won’t be a carbon copy of the novel that inspired it.
The star-studded cast of “Teacup” includes Scott Speedman (The Strangers), Yvonne Strahovski (“The Handmaid’s Tale”), Chaske Spencer (“Jessica Jones”, The Twilight Saga), Kathy Baker, Boris McGiver, Caleb Dolden, Emilie Bierre, and Luciano Leroux.
The first two episodes are directed by E.L. Katz (The Haunting of Bly Manor, Channel Zero).
The executive production team includes James Wan (The Conjuring Universe, Archive 81, M3GAN), Michael Clear (Archive 81, Swamp Thing) and Rob Hackett (Archive 81, I Know What You Did Last Summer) for Atomic Monster, Francisca X. Hu, and Kevin Tancharoen.
