Christian Group Demonstrates Against “Satanic Santa” in ‘Terrifier 3’ at Kansas City Cinema

I promise you, this is no gimmick.

Damien Leone’s Terrifier 3 is rapidly climbing the ranks to become the top film in the nation. Its journey to the top has been marked by several headline-grabbing incidents, including a ban for minors in France, two fainting incidents in Australia, and a moviegoer vomiting at the UK premiere.

When religious groups perceive you as a threat and take time out of their day to protest, you know you’ve hit a nerve. And it didn’t take long for them to target Terrifier 3.

David Howard Thornton, the actor behind the terrifying Art the Clown in the Terrifier series (including a standout horror villain performance in Terrifier 3), shared a photo on his Instagram taken by his cousin outside the B&B Theatres Mainstreet KC at The Power & Light District in Kansas City, MO. The caption succinctly sums it up: “We’re doing something right!”

Actor Devon Sawa echoed this sentiment in response to the post, tweeting: “A sure sign a movie is probably really good is if there’s people protesting outside the theater it’s playing at.”

It’s been nearly 40 years since Silent Night, Deadly Night‘s killer Santa sparked similar protests, leading to the 1984 classic being pulled from theaters. But rest assured, Bloody Disgusting has no intention of following suit. Times have changed, we’re a different company, and this UNRATED slasher shocker is here to stay.

In fact, Bloody Disgusting and Cineverse are expanding the reach of Terrifier 3, bringing it to even more screens starting today. The total theater count now stands at 2,514 locations across the U.S. and Canada.

Don’t miss out! Grab your tickets to see Terrifier 3 at your local theater this weekend!

In Terrifier 3, directed once again by Damien Leone (Terrifier, Terrifier 2), Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) is back to wreak havoc on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County on Christmas Eve.

“After surviving Art the Clown’s Halloween massacre, Sienna and her brother are struggling to rebuild their shattered lives. As the holiday season approaches, they try to embrace the Christmas spirit and leave the horrors of the past behind. But just when they think they’re safe, Art the Clown returns, determined to turn their holiday cheer into a new nightmare.

“The festive season quickly unravels as Art unleashes his twisted brand of terror, proving that no holiday is safe.”

The returning cast includes Lauren LaVera (Sienna), Samantha Scaffidi (Victoria Heyes), Elliot Fullam (Jonathan Shaw) and AEW superstar Chris Jericho (Burke), with Daniel Roebuck making his debut as Santa Claus. Makeup effects legend Tom Savini, Jason Patric, Antonella Rose, Krsy Fox, Clint Howard, and Jon Abrahams also make appearances.

A die-hard horror movie enthusiast who co-founded Bloody Disgusting in 2001. I’ve produced Terrifier 3, Southbound, V/H/S/2/3/94/99/85/BEYOND, SiREN, Under the Bed, and A Horrible Way to Die. Based in Chicago, I’m a lover of horror, pizza, and basketball. I eat Taco Bell daily.
