Fear The Walking Dead Star Joins DCU Series as Modern Cowboy in Lanterns

Exciting news for DC Universe fans! Garret Dillahunt, known for his role in Fear the Walking Dead, has been cast in the upcoming DCU series, Lanterns.

Created by the talented trio of Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King, Lanterns is a highly anticipated DCU series. The show will feature Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as John Stewart.

According to Deadline, Dillahunt has officially secured a significant recurring role in Lanterns.

So, who will Garret Dillahunt portray in Lanterns?

Dillahunt is set to bring to life the character of William Macon, a modern cowboy with a self-righteous, conspiracy-minded persona. He cleverly hides his ruthless ambition behind a charming and calculated facade.

Beyond his role as John Dorie in Fear the Walking Dead, Dillahunt has showcased his acting prowess in TV series like One Life to Live, Leap Years, Deadwood, The 4400, ER, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Raising Hope, Hand of God, Justified, The Mindy Project, The Guest Gook, The Gifted, and many more.

His impressive filmography includes acclaimed films such as No Country for Old Men, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Frost, The Road, Winter’s Bone, Looper, 12 Years a Slave, Widows, Army of the Dead, Ambulance, and the upcoming The Dead Don’t Hurt, among others.

In another exciting casting announcement, Kelly MacDonald, who starred alongside Dillahunt in No Country for Old Men, will portray Sheriff Kerry, a no-nonsense woman deeply devoted to her family and her close-knit town.

The official synopsis for Lanterns reveals, “The series follows new recruit John Stewart and Lantern legend Hal Jordan, two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.”

James Gunn and Peter Safran, speaking about the show, expressed their excitement, “We’re thrilled to bring this seminal DC title to HBO with Chris, Damon, and Tom at the helm. John Stewart and Hal Jordan are two of DC’s most compelling characters, and Lanterns brings them to life in an original detective story that is a foundational part of the unified DCU we’re launching next summer with Superman.”

While we’re all eagerly waiting, a premiere date for Lanterns has not yet been announced.
