“Filming Commences for The Boys Season 5 as Cast Photo Emerges”

Exciting news for fans of The Boys! A fresh cast photo from behind the scenes has confirmed that the wheels are in motion for the show’s fifth and final season.

Laz Alonso, known for his role as Mother’s Milk in The Boys, took to Instagram to share the cast photo. His caption, “And just like that….. we’re back!” was followed by a shoutout to the official account for The Boys and the hashtags “#Season5” and “#letsgo”.

From Alonso’s caption and the photo’s location tag of Toronto, Ontario – the filming location for The Boys – it’s evident that the cast and crew are back together to kickstart production on the final season of this much-loved Prime Video series.

Take a look at Alonso’s Instagram post below:

Who’s returning for The Boys Season 5?

Based on the photo, we can confirm that the following cast members are back for The Boys Season 5: Jack Quaid (Hughie), Karl Urban (Billy Butcher), Atony Starr (Homelander), Jessie T. Usher (A-Train), Chace Crawford (The Deep), Karen Fukuhara (Kimiko), Valorie Curry (Firecracker), Colby Minifie (Ashley Barrett), Tomer Capone (Frenchie), Susan Heyward (Sister Sage), and Nathan Mitchell (Black Noir II).

While they’re not in the cast photo, Erin Moriarty, Jensen Ackles, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan are also confirmed to reprise their roles as Starlight, Soldier Boy, and Joe Kessler, respectively, in the final season.

The fourth season of The Boys wrapped up on July 18, 2024. While the premiere date for Season 5 is yet to be announced, we know that it will be the series’ swan song. The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke revealed back in June 2024 that a five-season run was always the plan for the show. He playfully hinted at a “gory, epic, moist climax” for the story.

Even though The Boys is concluding with its fifth season, Prime Video plans to keep the franchise thriving with several spin-off series. Along with a second season of Gen V, a Mexico-based spin-off and a 1950s-set prequel series titled Vought Rising are in the works. The latter will feature Ackles and Aya Cash reprising their roles from The Boys as Soldier Boy and Stormfront, respectively.

Currently, the first four seasons of The Boys are available for streaming on Prime Video.
