US Military Seeks Public Assistance in Locating $135.8 Million Jet Following Mishap

The US military needs your help in locating a missing plane! In a daring incident, a pilot had to eject from an F-35B Lightning II jet, leaving the expensive aircraft behind. Valued at approximately $135.8 million, this mishap occurred near Joint Base Charleston on Sunday.

The good news is that the pilot safely ejected and was found near South Kenwood Drive in North Charleston. They have been taken to a local medical center and are currently in stable condition, as reported by local outlet News 2. The United States Marine Corps will be conducting an investigation into the incident, according to their statement to Insider.

Although it may sound unbelievable, this isn’t the first time the US military has misplaced a valuable asset. In fact, there have been instances where six nuclear weapons were lost by different branches of the military. One of these weapons is still missing in North Carolina since 1961, after the wing of a B-52 bomber carrying it broke apart, forcing the pilots to eject.
