V/H/S 85 Trailer Teases Monsters, Guns, and an Abundance of Blood

Imagine a world without the creative labor of writers and actors. It’s a bleak reality that we’re facing during the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Without their contributions, the film we’re about to dive into wouldn’t even exist.

Get ready for a spine-chilling experience with the upcoming installment of the V/H/S horror anthology series, set in the nostalgic year of 1985. Aptly titled V/H/S/85, this 110-minute movie promises supernatural horrors and a generous serving of blood-soaked violence. The latest trailer teases us with glimpses of a tentacled monster lurking in one of the segments, leaving us hungry for more.

Building on the excitement from the previous teaser, this “full” official trailer (only thirty seconds longer, but who’s counting?) treats us to additional tantalizing snippets from the various segments of the film. We catch a glimpse of a monstrous creature wreaking havoc in an office building or perhaps a secretive government lab. And then there’s a punk rock rebel being interrogated, who we suspect stumbled upon a horrifying VHS mixtape that defies imagination.

One thing’s for sure, though—the film boasts an impressive lineup of directors. David Bruckner (Hellraiser, The Night House), Scott Derrickson (The Black Phone, Sinister), Gigi Saul Guerrero (Bingo Hell, Culture Shock), Natasha Kermani (Lucky), and Mike P. Nelson (Wrong Turn) each lend their expertise to different sections of the movie, promising a truly harrowing experience.

Mark your calendars for October 6, 2023, when V/H/S/85 premieres on Shudder (accessible through the AMC+ streaming platform). But while you wait, feast your eyes on this totally ’80s poster that perfectly captures the essence of the film:
