Invincible Season 2 Trailer Unveils Mark’s Violent and Bloody Transformation, Echoing His Father

Get ready, because the highly anticipated second season of the thrilling animated series Invincible is just around the corner! Prime Video unveiled an exciting trailer during New York Comic Con, giving us a glimpse of what’s to come for Mark (played by Steven Yeun) after the intense events of season one.

Here’s what you can expect in season two:

Based on the groundbreaking comic book by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, the story follows eighteen-year-old Mark Grayson, who may seem like an ordinary guy his age, but his father happens to be (or was) the most powerful superhero on Earth. Still grappling with the betrayal from his father in the previous season, Mark faces the challenge of rebuilding his life while confronting new threats. His biggest fear? Becoming like his father without even realizing it.

From the trailer, it’s clear that Mark is struggling to distance himself from his murderous, power-hungry father. And it seems like things are about to get even more mind-bendingly complex, quite literally.

“Season Two overall represents an opening of the universe, an expansion of the universe,” said showrunner Robert Kirkman in a September 2023 interview with Entertainment Weekly. “There were hints of things that are going on in Season One, and we’re actually going to get to see those things. The Coalition of Planets was mentioned in Season One. The Coalition of Planets is something that we’re actually going to see in Season Two. And there’s larger things on Earth. There are different factions, different villains, different things happening.”

An incredible voice cast brings this ever-growing superhero universe to life, including Sandra Oh, Zazie Beetz, Grey DeLisle, Chris Diamantopoulos, Walton Goggins, Gillian Jacobs, Jason Mantzoukas, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton, Zachary Quinto, Andrew Rannells, Kevin Michael Richardson, Seth Rogen, and J.K. Simmons.

The first half of Invincible‘s eight-episode season premieres on November 3, 2023, exclusively on Prime Video. New episodes will be released weekly. After a mid-season break, the second half of season two will return in early 2024.
