The Witcher Board Game Achieves Full Crowdfunding in Just Five Minutes

The Witcher: Path of Destiny, an exciting new board game inspired by the popular games by CD Projekt Red, achieved its crowdfunding goal in a mind-blowing five minutes today.

Developed by Go On Board in collaboration with CD Projekt Red, The Witcher: Path of Destiny’s crowdfunding campaign made its debut on Gamefund. Astonishingly, the game reached its initial goal of $75,000 in just 4 minutes and 37 seconds. And that’s not all! As I write this, Go On Board’s project has already amassed over $1 million from nearly 15,000 enthusiastic backers.

The Witcher: Path of Destiny Explores the Games and Books

Path of Destiny serves as a sequel to The Witcher: The Old World, another fantastic game by Go On Board. In this immersive experience, players assume the roles of beloved characters such as Geralt, Ciri, Yennefer, Vesemir, and Dandelion. Thanks to the overwhelming support, Go On Board has unlocked Triss Marigold as a playable character. According to the Gamefund profile, Path of Destiny delves into captivating stories from CD Projekt Red’s games and the books penned by Andrzej Sapkowski.

In this thrilling game, 1 to 5 players embark on one of four different tales. Initially, Path of Destiny offered three tales: Striga, Edge of the World, and Lesser Evil. However, thanks to reaching a stretch goal, a fourth tale called Grain of Truth has been added. Each tale introduces unique twists to the game’s rules and mechanics, ensuring an engaging and unpredictable experience.

Excitingly, The Witcher: Path of Destiny also includes rules for solo play in the Grain of Truth tale. In this mode, players can bring Geralt along as a companion. With the stretch goals achieved, the game now offers new upgrades for solo play and the option to journey with Ciri, Vesemir, Yennefer, or Dandelion.

The first wave of the game, featuring the English version, is scheduled to ship in December 2024. Three months later, a second wave with versions in other languages will be launched, allowing even more fans to enjoy this incredible gaming experience.
