New Transformer Reveals Megatron’s Bumblebee Appearance

Get ready for some Transformers nostalgia! The movie Bumblebee has sparked a debate among fans – is it a prequel or a reboot? The filmmakers have cleverly left it open to interpretation, but for Hasbro, every bit of continuity matters. However, one character has been caught in the middle of this debate: Megatron, the franchise’s primary villain.

All Hail!

Megatron was considered for the Bumblebee movie, but director Travis Knight decided to prioritize continuity. He didn’t want to contradict the first Transformers film, where Megatron was frozen on Earth and stored under Hoover Dam. So, unfortunately, Megatron won’t be making an appearance in Bumblebee.

But don’t worry, fans! Hasbro has just unveiled a toy version of Megatron in his classic Generation 1 style. This triple-changer pays tribute to multiple incarnations of the character. In robot form, it resembles the iconic ’80s cartoon Megatron. In his alt-modes, he can transform into an alien jet like in the first Bay movie or a tank mode similar to the Revenge of the Fallen toy.

You can now preorder the Megatron toy online for $54.99. It’s expected to be released in February, just in time for Valentine’s Day. While there’s no guarantee that Megatron will look like this in future movies – the next one being an animated Cybertron prequel – this figure adds a classic touch to any collection of movie-based or inspired toys.

Take a look at some official images below and let your imagination run wild with what could have been on the big screen.
