Merry Little Batman star Luke Wilson has revealed his experience playing a more fatherly version of the Caped Crusader in the animated holiday special.
During an interview with ComingSoon about Merry Little Batman, Wilson was asked about his favorite aspect of portraying this neurotic and parental take on the iconic DC hero.
“Just what you mentioned. We’ve all witnessed the gritty, dark, dystopian portrayal of Bruce Wayne, which is undeniably captivating,” Wilson explained. “However, as soon as I saw the title Merry Little Batman and read the hilarious script, I instantly understood the target audience. It’s aimed at younger kids, families, and parents. This knowledge influenced my approach to the character.”
What is Merry Little Batman about?
“This Christmas, Damian Wayne aspires to become a superhero like his father, the one and only Batman,” states the synopsis of the special. “When Damian finds himself home alone on Christmas Eve while Batman battles Gotham’s most notorious supervillains, he stumbles upon a wicked plot to steal Christmas. He seizes the opportunity to save the day.”
Merry Little Batman is now available for streaming on Prime Video.
