Even though the team at Villainous Games Studio missed their initial Early Access release last July, they’ve been tirelessly refining their forthcoming first-person folk horror roguelite, Harvest Hunt. Their dedication has paid off, as they’ve just announced a May 2024 release date. They’ve also unveiled a thrilling new trailer at the IGN Fan Fest and announced Neonhive Games as the publisher for Harvest Hunt.
The captivating new trailer, featuring the voice of Samantha Béart from Baldur’s Gate 3, unveils the dire situation in your village, Luna Nova. Every Harvest season, death looms over the village. You’ve been chosen as the next Warden, tasked with protecting the villagers from the monstrous creatures that threaten to consume them, and ensuring their survival by gathering the vital resources they need.
As the Warden, you’ll venture into the Farmlands surrounding Luna Nova, armed with your mask and courage. Each night, your fate is sealed as you draw cards, known as Whispers, which unlock supernatural abilities and modifiers. These can either aid or obstruct your vigil, influencing both the environment and the Devourer that’s relentlessly pursuing you.
“We’re a small team, and we’re absolutely thrilled that the trailer for Harvest Hunt will be showcased at the IGN Fan Fest. We’ve poured our hearts into creating a game that’s fun, eerie, and replayable for players worldwide,” said Mark Drew, Creative Director of Villainous Games Studio. “Having the incredible Samantha Béart lend her voice to our trailer was a no-brainer. We’re eagerly awaiting everyone’s reactions to the trailer and the game’s release in May.”
