Toplitz Productions’ highly anticipated survival adventure game, Serum, initially slated for release last year, is now set to make its debut in Early Access on Steam on May 23. This exciting news is accompanied by the unveiling of a gripping new cinematic trailer for the game, courtesy of IGN. Serum is expected to remain in Early Access for approximately a year.
The fresh trailer introduces us to the game’s hero, Adam, a survivor and a patient of the enigmatic E.V.A.S. Corporation. Stranded on the island of Matamis following a disastrous mutagen incident, Adam is left to fend for himself. Alone and in search of answers, he must traverse the post-apocalyptic landscape, with the shadow of the E.V.A.S. Corporation’s actions looming ominously in the background.
Toplitz’s objective for the Early Access phase is to craft an exhilarating and immersive player experience. They also plan to continually refine key player features such as crafting, tools, weapons, and exploration.
At the heart of Serum is a unique game mechanic revolving around a mysterious elixir (serum) that is vital for survival in a world ravaged by infection. This serum is a lifeline with the power to cure the Blight, a man-made catastrophe triggered by the E.V.A.S. Corporation that has wreaked havoc on the world. With the clock ticking, Serum challenges players to uncover how this precious liquid can extend their life, boost their abilities, and augment their handcrafted weaponry.
