Why Jimmy Olsen is Earth’s last line of defense
The current plot of Batman/Superman: World’s Finest revolves around a serial killer wreaking havoc in the Fifth Dimension. The imps Bat-Mite and Mister Mxyzptlk, desperate for help, turn to Batman and Superman to solve the murders, a concept alien to the reality-bending inhabitants of the Fifth Dimension.
The villains turn out to be a horde of malevolent imps, who idolize Earth-Prime’s villains just as Bat-Mite idolizes Batman. They orchestrate a colossal showdown between their chosen villains and their heroic adversaries, aiming to identify Earth’s greatest warrior. This chosen warrior is then destined to face off against the imps’ leader, Doom-Mite, in a cosmic battle of epic proportions.
Jimmy Olsen is thrust into the fray when Mister Mxyzptlk restores all his past superpowers, leading to the creation of a magical Jimmy Olsen squad that battles the imp army. This results in Doom-Mite declaring Jimmy the victor by default, despite Mxyzptlk’s cowardly betrayal. But fear not, it seems our hero Jimmy Olsen is poised for victory.
