Adult Swim Announces Fall Premiere Date for Junji Ito’s “Uzumaki” Adaptation in New Teaser

Brace yourselves, fans of Prime Video’s gritty superhero saga,The Boys.Though the fifth season will be its swan song, the universe is far from done expanding. The latest bombshell dropped during “The Boys” San Diego Comic-Con panel was the announcement of a prequel series, “Vought Rising.”

And if that doesn’t pique your interest, the series will be led by two familiar faces.

“Vought Rising” will feature Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash, reprising their roles as Soldier Boy and Stormfront, respectively. The dynamic duo will also don the hats of producers for the upcoming series.

“We’re thrilled to bring you another wild ride from the universe of The Boys. It’s a twisted murder mystery tracing the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early adventures of Soldier Boy, and the sinister schemes of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then operating under the alias Clara Vought. We’re eager to shock and awe you with this scandalous, grisly saga soaked in blood and Compound V,” shared executive producer Eric Kripke and series showrunner and executive producer Paul Grellong.

Paul Grellong will also helm the series as showrunner and executive producer.

While the plot remains under wraps for now, the title and its leads suggest that the prequel will delve deeper into the murky beginnings of the notorious Vought International.

The series boasts a stellar lineup of executive producers including Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, and Michaela Starr. The series is a collaborative production of Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film.

“Vought Rising” joins the ranks of previous spinoff series “The Boys Presents: Diabolical” and “Gen V.”

You can binge-watch all seasons of “The Boys” and its spinoff series, now streaming on Prime Video.
