In this unique queer horror anthology, we follow the journey of 12-year-old Venus who runs away from home. However, their adventure is cut short when their older sister, Jazmin, spots them on the sidewalk with a suitcase. Jazmin then takes Venus on a supernatural journey around Ohio, sharing eerie tales that resonate deeply with Venus.
Hauntology is a collection of four spine-chilling stories…
The first tale revolves around Julian, a young trans woman who performs a spell to transform into her ideal self. But a sinister spirit involved in the ritual becomes infatuated with Julian and starts to infiltrate her life.
The second story is about a troubled couple whose trip to a secluded lake house exposes alarming cracks in their relationship. One of them stumbles upon a mysterious grave and learns that its owner has been waiting for her for over a century.
The third narrative centers around an emerging art gallery where the paintings of a deceased artist are being forged. However, the artist’s vengeful spirit soon wreaks havoc in the town, leading to a bloodbath.
The fourth and final story features a journalist who manages to secure an interview with the eccentric owner of a haunted Victorian mansion. As night falls, the journalist discovers the chilling reason behind the mansion’s infamous hauntings.
The mastermind behind this horror anthology is Parker Brennon, who has written and directed the movie.
