Get ready, Marvel fans! The first trailer for the much-anticipated Thunderbolts* has just dropped.

Starring a stellar cast including Florence Pugh, Lewis Pullman, David Harbour, and many more, Thunderbolts* is the latest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Under the direction of Jake Schreier, this action-packed movie is set to hit theaters across the United States this May.

Don’t miss out! Watch the electrifying Thunderbolts* trailer right here:

What’s the scoop on the Thunderbolts* trailer?

The trailer primarily revolves around Florence Pugh’s character, Yelena Belova. After a visit to her father, Alexi Shostakov/Red Guardian (played by Harbour), Yelena stumbles upon a warehouse where she encounters a host of intriguing characters.

As the plot unfolds, the group realizes they are likely being targeted for unknown reasons. The trailer also teases appearances from Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Valentina Allegra de Fontaine and Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes, who seems to be on a separate mission that intersects with the main storyline.

Expect to see Harrison Ford’s Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross in the movie, with Geraldine Viswanathan portraying Valentina Allegra de Fontaine’s assistant.

Schreier, known for his work on 2012’s Robot & Frank and 2015’s Paper Towns, has also directed episodes of Lodge 49, Netflix’s Beef, and the upcoming Disney+ Star Wars: Skeleton Crew series.

Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige has confirmed that the asterisk in Thunderbolts* is indeed part of the film’s title, though its significance remains a mystery. Feige has teased that more will be revealed after the movie’s release.

Mark your calendars! Thunderbolts* is set to premiere in United States theaters on May 2, 2025, as part of Phase 5 of the MCU. Before that, Marvel will release Captain America: Brave New World on February 14, 2025, and Fantastic Four: The First Steps on July 25, 2025.
