Charlie Cox spills the beans on Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again
In an exclusive interview with Empire Magazine, Cox shed light on how the new Daredevil series from Marvel Studios will evolve from the events of the Netflix series.
“Initially, there was a discussion about completely reinventing the narrative, to explore a slightly different version of Matt. However, it eventually turned out to be more of a continuation,” he revealed. “…Much of the history carries forward. The relationships and dynamics established in the previous seasons are still very much alive.”
Cox further added, “A few years have elapsed. During this period, Matt, Foggy, and Karen have established a pretty solid rhythm.”
While Cox mentioned that the series kicks off with Matt having “reconciled with his dual role as a lawyer and a vigilante,” he hinted that “all hell breaks loose” when he’s compelled to confront Wilson Fisk/Kingpin’s political ambitions.
Portraying Fisk is the talented Vincent D’Onofrio, while the star-studded cast of Daredevil: Born Again also features Margarita Levieva, Ayelet Zurer, Michael Gandolfini, and others. In addition, Jon Bernthal is set to reprise his role as Frank Castle/Punisher in the show, with Wilson Bethel making a comeback as Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter.
Mark your calendars! Daredevil: Born Again, comprising a nine-episode debut season, is set to premiere on Disney+ on March 4, 2025, as a part of Phase Five of the MCU. Fans can also catch the first three seasons of the Netflix Marvel Daredevil series on Disney+.
