The dust has finally settled on the Venom War. But in its aftermath, neither Eddie Brock nor his son, Dylan, managed to reclaim their symbiotic alter ego. Instead, the symbiote made a swift exit from the battlefield, only to resurface with a fresh host, introducing us to an All-New Venom.

Al Ewing, the writer, and Carlos Gomez, the artist, plunge us straight into the action in the preview of All-New Venom. The scene unfolds as a potential leader of the super science group AIM disrupts the trial of Madam Masque. Amid the chaos, she manages to escape, just as a certain symbiote and their new host arrive, ready for a showdown.

The identity of the new Venom host will be unveiled by the end of the issue
The preview introduces us to four characters, each hinted at in early announcements as potential hosts for the new Venom. They are known as the Journalist (Robbie Robertson), the Terrorist (Madame Masque), the Sidekick (Rick Jones), and Mayor Luke Cage. All four are potential candidates based on this scene, but the true identity of the new symbiote host will remain a mystery until the issue’s conclusion. Regardless of who the new host is, their series will take a departure from the cosmic tone of recent Venom series.
“We’re moving away from that and returning to a more intimate, character-driven narrative,” reveals Ewing. But fans can still expect “plenty of that classic, ground-level superhero action. Web-slinging, chain-slinging, all the Venom staples.” Ewing also teases that he and Gomez have “a few surprises up our sleeves that we can’t wait to unveil.”
Mark your calendars, All-New Venom #1 hits comic shops everywhere on December 4, 2024.
